Eyebrow Lift

An eyebrow lift can be performed under local anesthesia with deep sedation, or general anesthesia, and may take 1 to 2 hours. With the classical or "open" method the cut is hidden just inside or by the hairline across the scalp and between the ears.

The eyebrows may also be elevated, and excess skin at the incision will be removed to allow a gentle redraping of your forehead skin. A forehead lift or brow lift is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects loose brows and improves the horizontal lines and creases that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired.

Eyebrow Lift plastic surgery makes three important changes

  • Lateral fullness of the upper eyelid and lower brow; common complaint from patients: looking tired. It's caused by gravitational descent of the forehead and brow skin over the orbital bony rim.
  • Frown lines are caused by contraction of the corrugators muscles between the eyebrows over the bridge or root of the nose.
  • Transverse forehead wrinkles are caused by muscle activity in raising or lowering the eyebrows themselves.

A forehead lift is most commonly performed in the 40-60 age range to minimize the visible effects of aging. However, it can also help people of any age who have developed frown lines due to stress or muscle activity. Individuals with inherited conditions, such as a low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose can achieve a more alert and refreshed look with this procedure.
